1972 Cadillac DeVille Superior Crown Sovereign Limousine Style Hearse

The title pic here is from the previous owner taken at a local cemetery, it looks pretty good, but we'll see what evil is hiding for us in this build... It has a stock 472 ci engine with an automatic transmission, and it runs like a top... One of the rear leaf springs is broken, a single leaf in the bunch, but it sure makes the call roll in a corner...

Here she is after she was acquired and arrived at home...

Here she is from the rear, you can see in this pic the obvious pieces that will be going like the aluminum running boards, the spare tire carrier, the curtains, and if you look closely you can see what's left of an old boomerang TV antenna... At some point in this rides life it must have been owned by an old vanner... Hey, I'm an old vanner... Hmmm...

Her stunning Tiara...!

And her lovely crown...

She even has a sunroof, just ahead of the tiara over the rear seat area... Also has a bit of surface rust, where a new landau top will go...

Here is what's left of an old boomerang style TV antenna, popular with the custom van movement years ago as well as limousines of the day...

These buckets are in nice shape & will be used in another project... These seats are mounted way to high...

The seats gotta go...

What kind of idiot installed these seats in the first place, what a difficult job removing them...

Finally, one seat is out, on to the next...

The passenger quarter needs some fab work to fix it up good as new...

The drivers side quarter needs a little attention in the bottom right corner... The gas door needs a little work as well...

A bit of rust to deal with in front of the fender skirt on the drivers side...

This is the power bench seat that came in the rear of the Hearse, it was never bolted down and will be used as a front seat instead...

The floor from the coach-builder has been hacked up at some point to make room for the rear seat... This will be modified to accommodate the Electro-Casket...

Gotta hate it when you find a small imperfection on the drivers side front fender, that I've now ground down to bare metal, and discover a poor patch job..

.

Here you can see up close multiple patches that were tacked together and are failing

And I end up with a giant hole, nothin' a little fab work won't fix though...

here's a close up of the hole...
